From Former Player Liz, who was a four time CIF Champion for soccer. She has forged a very successful career for herself and took the time to reflect and write the following: I have such rich and colorful memories playing for Rob. It started with a group of rowdy, untrained 12-year old AYSO All-Star players getting together to form a club team. And over the course of 6-years, ultimately became a forged unit with respect, discipline, and passion for the game, each other and most importantly our coach. Playing for Rob was the highlight of my soccer career and I’d say my adolescent years in general.
He created a healthy environment for his players to discover their own unique styles to compliment the greater whole. It was at practice, running drills, kickoff whistles, brilliant set pieces, international travel tournaments, an occasional yellow card, over-times, PK’s that felt like home. That was the one place I could work it all out, whether family struggles or school challenges...I’d just leave it all out on the field. It wasn’t just any team playing a sport, it was building character to shape us as people.
When it came to the sport, Rob’s calm yet firm style showed us how to maintain composure under pressure, how to lead, how to balance hard work and play, and how to train and strategize.
The principles I learned on his field have carried me through college and my professional career, it’s a built-in drive and resilience. I truly believe no other club, coach, or environment would have lended the same experience and I’m grateful for the years I got to play for someone I deeply respect and the friendships I’ll have for a lifetime. Liz

Dear Rob Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to contribute to kidsinthehouse. You did an amazing job and we know that your videos will help many parents become better parents and gain a better understanding of how to raise their boys. You were fantastic in front of the camera and so natural and likable. I really appreciate your contribution and your videos are going to be great! With Love & Gratitude, Leana and the rest of the Kids in the House team
Dear Mr. Kodama, I am writing to thank you for coming to our school and also to tell you how helpful your recent presentation was to our staff. We continue to discuss the eye-opening insights you brought to us. Some of your stories and examples have now become part of our school culture and have helped our teachers look at their classroom differently. I see in my observations how your visit has begun to inform their teaching. Thank you for being so passionate about the topic of boys and for being so willing and generous in sharing your knowledge. I encourage you to continue with what you are doing, because your message needs to be heard and understood by all who teach or work with children. Sincerely, Carol Piekaar, Director Kirk O' The Valley School
